The leader of the Anbariya Sunni Community, Afa Saeed, has appealed to the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, to intervene in what he describes as the removal of some names from a list submitted by the community for appointments within the newly accredited Education Unit.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu

In a press statement issued from his residence, the respected Islamic leader broke years of public silence to raise concerns over the matter. While acknowledging and commending the Minister for facilitating the accreditation and elevation of the Education Unit, he expressed dissatisfaction with the alleged exclusion of certain individuals from the final list.

According to Afa Saeed, the names in question formed part of the recommendations submitted by the leadership of the Anbariya Sunni Community and were expected to be considered in the appointment process. He argued that their omission has raised concerns among members of the community.

The Imam emphasized that his appeal should not be interpreted as opposition to the accreditation of the unit, which he described as a major achievement. Rather, he said his concern is centered on ensuring fairness and respecting the recommendations made by the community’s leadership.

He therefore called on Hon. Haruna Iddrisu to urgently review the matter and take the necessary steps to address the concerns raised. He expressed confidence that the Minister would respond appropriately and help bring a satisfactory resolution to the issue.
