In a recent Facebook post, Striker De Donzy expressed his frustrations with the music industry, accusing it of being unfair to him. In his post, De Donzy shared flyers from his 2022 concert and Fad Lan’s 2022 event at the Bukom Arena, claiming that despite setting his date first, Fad Lan scheduled his show just a week before his. He also alleged that a similar scenario occurred this year, where Fancy Gadam scheduled his concert a week before his at the same venue, despite he announcing his date months earlier.
De Donzy’s post quickly sparked controversy, especially with Fad Lan, who was not pleased with the allegations. Fad Lan responded by demanding that De Donzy take down the post, a command that De Donzy ignored. Instead, De Donzy doubled down, sharing a lengthy comment that whatever he posted was nothing disrespectful but facts. Fad Lan came again with a stern warning that he might pursue legal action if it turns out that De Donzy, or someone associated with him, was behind the accusations.
In his follow-up post, Fad Lan lamented how he has been repeatedly targeted and defamed in the industry, stating that he has tried to remain professional but is now at his breaking point. He clarified that his intention was not to sabotage De Donzy but to highlight a pattern of what he perceives as deliberate attempts to undermine his career. Fad Lan emphasized that he announced his 2022 show long before any other events were scheduled and is prepared to take the matter to court if necessary.
The tension between these two prominent artists has escalated, with fans and industry insiders eagerly watching to see if the situation will indeed lead to a court battle. The outcome could have significant implications not only for the artists involved but for the Northern Ghanaian music scene as a whole. Fad Lan shared below,
“For ten years, I have watched people tarnish my image , lie on my name and drag me all they want and people tend to believe them. I have been keeping it professional and just try to go about my work and do what I love but this might be the last straw . I just contacted personally and he said this is not his account but I told him in case we find out the page is related to him . I might take this to court . I’m on my toes trying to survive and a post is made been made with my flyer on it and it’s painting a picture of me sabotaging the artist to not do his show meanwhile I’m not doing a show at the said venue and if he is referring to my show in 2022, there is evidence of me announcing my show way before everybody that did their show in that period . So I’m not taking this lightly.“
